The banner and what it does
When you first visit scoopsrescueservices.com, a bar at the bottom of the page asks you to choose. It appears about 700 milliseconds after the page loads, so the layout can settle. It is a dialog you can reach with a keyboard. It does not trap the rest of the page, and on a small screen it sits above the footer legal links rather than covering them. The two actions are “Accept analytics” and “Essential only”. There is no third button that pretends to be a preference centre while still turning everything on.
Either action writes a cookie named src_consent with the value accepted or essential. It lasts twelve months, uses SameSite=Lax, and is set for the path / on this host. After that, the bar stays away until the cookie expires or you delete it. We use that cookie only to remember the choice. It is not an advertising identifier. It does not follow you onto other sites.
This note sits with the privacy note. The Personal Data Protection Act still applies to personal data we handle in briefs and accounts. Cookies are a small part of that picture. We do not claim a certification for our cookie practice, and we do not publish a registration number on this page.
The essential cookie
src_consent is the only cookie we set ourselves in all cases once you have chosen. If you pick “Essential only”, that is the only Scoopsrescueservices cookie that should be present for this purpose. We also need a session on the contact form so that, if a brief fails validation, we can show the errors and put your words back in the fields. That session is a server-side working file with a session identifier, used to complete the form, not to advertise to you. It is not used as a cross-site tracker.
The form also includes a hidden timestamp and a honeypot field that humans should not fill in. Those values are submitted with the brief; they are not cookies. They exist to reduce junk mail to hello@scoopsrescueservices.com. They are discarded after the brief is accepted or rejected.
Analytics cookies, only if you accept
If you choose “Accept analytics”, we may load Google Analytics so we can see which pages are actually read — for example, whether anyone reaches the process page, or whether the brief form is abandoned. That tool uses cookies on Google’s terms, typically:
_ga— a client identifier, often lasting about two years, used to distinguish browsers._gid— a shorter-lived identifier, often about 24 hours, used to distinguish browsers in the short term._ga_*— a property-specific cookie used to persist a session state.
Those cookies are not set unless analytics has been accepted. We IP-anonymise where the tool allows it. We do not use analytics to build remarketing lists for Scoopsrescueservices ads, and we do not pass brief-form fields into analytics as user-provided data. If you chose “Essential only”, the analytics script does not load and those cookies should not appear from us.
Analytics numbers are a reading of consented traffic. They will be smaller than a site that fires tags before a banner. That is acceptable. We would rather know which pages are read by people who did not object than inflate a chart.
Changing your mind
Delete the src_consent cookie for scoopsrescueservices.com in your browser, then reload. The bar will appear again after a short delay. Choose the other option. If you had accepted analytics and you later choose essential only, new analytics cookies will not be written by us; you may still need to delete existing _ga cookies in your browser, because we cannot reach inside your machine and pick them out. Browser settings also let you block cookies altogether. If you block all cookies, the banner may return on every visit, and the contact form’s error-repopulation may not survive a round trip.
Other storage you might see
The embedded map in the footer is served by Google Maps. Once that frame loads, Google may set its own cookies according to its policies, which we do not control. If you do not want that, do not interact with the map; the rest of the site remains usable. Video is not embedded on this site. We do not run a chat widget, a heat-map recorder, or a social pixel for our own prospecting. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts; that request may allow Google to see the fact of a page load, which is a network request rather than a cookie we set.
If we add a tool that sets a new cookie, we will name it on this page before it goes live. We will not hide it in a 40-row table of “strictly necessary” items that are not strictly necessary.
